Brian Boyle shows Kings what he can do - Los Angeles Times

Boyle PHX

"This is the place I want to stay," said Boyle, drafted 26th in 2003. "Hopefully I can impress well enough to be able to stay and get a contract. For me, it's desperation."

Boyle is an RFA this summer. He made $750K this season. I have no clue what kind of contract he will end up with, although DL's recent comment about matching offer sheets for Boyle is (maybe) a signal he wants Boyle back. If Boyle were to sign an offer sheet, compensation would be (actually, these are the numbers for 2008; the numbers for 2009 will likely be nominally higher):

under $863K - no compensation
up to $1.3MM -- 3rd round pick
up to $2.6MM -- 2nd round pick
up to $3.9MM -- 1st and 3rd
up to $5.2MM -- 1st, 2nd and 3rd
up to $6.5MM -- 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd
over $6.5MM -- 4 1sts
