Yeah, I know. I don’t think he really meant it. I guess if he gets a zillion assists, 20 might be acceptable. I expect nothing less than his best numbers ever.

jw seems like an interesting cat. it seems like he plays better angry. he was pissed at himself during some of the drills and then started snipping some really good shots upstairs. on in particular had smyth screaming out loud, “oh snap! whooo!” jw didn’t smile. nice moment.

call me crazy but I felt like hickey disappeared yesterday and that teubert has a way better chance at making this team. teubert may need to put on some muscle, but he looked solid to me. i didn’t see him melt down in ontario last year, but i didn’t see anything other than a great effort and great attitude.

Hickey is interesting that way, in that frequently he goes unnoticed (usually when he’s not trying to rush the puck). I suspect that he’s decided (or has been told) that if he impresses defensively he’ll make it. His offensive skills are known. Whether he’s strong enough this year to play in the NHL is not.
