Brown makes no sense

"We need a better result and it's all about results now," Brown said. "That was a hell of a lot better than the St. Louis game and we have to build on that.

Except for the results, which were identical.

"That's a good team and they had a couple of chances and they capitalized and we had some good chances and missed.

I know. I was watching. But see "results" above.

That's the difference when you play a good team late in the season and that's something we need to build on."

What's something? We need to build on not getting results? Which is what it's all about? How do you build on that? You build on something that's good, you know, like a foundation. That's why you build on it. You can't build on something that should have happened and did happen to a better team but didn't happen to you.

The title should obviously be, “Brown makes no sense… again.” Love Brown as a player, obviously, but still don’t see what DL and TM saw when Brown obviously spoke to prospects a couple of years ago (I believe, obviously) which made them say, “Ah, yes, great speaker, motivator, leader…obviously he’s our captain!”

Lets be honest, none of us are in the locker room so we have no idea who says what and how. Not every captain is vocal and not every captain is the sole leader of their team. Gretzky was the captain in Edmonton but Messier was the soul. Greene, OD, and I’m sure a few others probably speak as much as Brown does. Its not about having one amazing leader as much as it is about having 5-6 guys who are vocal and another 5-6 who lead by example.

Totally agree with you Sam… and Brown sucks as a captain.

I have no problem with a captain not being “vocal” (which to me means he doesn’t yap all the time) but WHEN the captain does decide to speak, it should make a whole lot of sense and sound confident. I just don’t get that at all from Brown (from the outside looking in).
