PrintThe 2010 Vancouver Olympics are upon us as is this temporary break from NHL hockey. As an incentive to those who come here and engage us in conversation, here is something for you; a Wayne Simmonds bobblehead! To enter in to potentially win this all you have to do is comment on any post starting from now until the next Los Angeles Kings game on Tuesday, March 2nd.
The more you comment, the greater your chances are at placing this awesome bobblehead on your mantel. The only comments that won't be tallied are spam or ones that don't contribute to the discussion at hand. If you're just not feeling the bobble, let me know by putting "No Wayner" at the bottom of your comment.

This may have been discussed elsewhere, but any chance that Quick moves up on the Team USA goalie list ahead of Thomas? Thomas hasn’t won in a month, while Quick is coming off a shutout + extended W streak.
I wouldn’t be surprised if all three were given at least one game in the early stages. I’d be okay with Thomas or Quick going up against Latvia (not that I know their schedule off the top of my head).
I love JQ and all my Kings....

Visited the motherland for the weekend, and saw the Kings play the Avs (among other things). Now i’m back home (in colorado) bragging about the victory.
Anyways, I must say that I am quite happy about the call up of Rich Clune. He had a couple of awful shifts but he definitely made an impression. I don’t think he deserved the 3rd star even though he had 2 assists, but calling out Cody McCleod early was awesome

What did you think of the post-game Olympic ceremony, BD? I thought it was really nicely done by the Kings. On the other hand, over at Mile High Hockey, a commentor called the Kings decision to have the ceremony after the game “So fucking disrespectful to their own players much less the Avs.” Sheesh.

Staples Center still had more fans after the game than the Pepsi Center has during!
Also, the avs players got just as much applause from us (with the exception of Quick’s roar). Barely anyone left and I think the ceremony was awesome

That’s so cool that you were in attendance. The fans at Staples Center really deserve a tip of the ol’ chapeau for appluading the Kings & the Avs equally during the ceremony. I mean, how many people at Saturday’s game really cared that Ruslan Salei was about to go represent Belarus at the games? It was classy for the Staples Center denizens to cheer him on, nonetheless.

They are whining that...
the ceramony happened AFTER the game instead of BEFORE the game…
Apparently they feel that it was disrespecful to make the players stick around longer than they would otherwise have and they are under the impression that there weren’t many fans left in the staduim by that time.
Just to think of it...

C’mon now. Simmonds’ proper SB Nation nomenclature is not “Night Train.” That matter was clarified quite some time ago

I like the way Wayne pushes up his helmet a little bit after the whistle blows, or when he’s on the bench, and then, without using his hands, he sort of, you know, bobbles his head forward to return his helmet to it’s proper position. I’d like to see a video montage of Simmonds doing the bobble again and again and again.
