[Last chance Kings fans, polls close Monday] Who Do You Know?

[this is not a test; nobody knows all these people; it's really a survey of -- oh, I don't know -- the collective experience of the Kings fan hive mind. Something like that.]

If you wanted to make me wispy-eyed and nostalgic, you did it

Seriously, though: This should be one of those quizzes where you’re described as some kind of animal or something depending on what you check off. :-D

Juha Widing (pronounced Yoo-hah Vee-ding) is the Swedish centerman that Jack Kent Cooke forced Bob Miller to refer to as “Whitey Why-ding”. Ah, the good old days!

I think your poll is screwed up. It’s showing very low percentages for everyone, and you can’t tell me that only 4% of the respondents know who Colin Campbell is!

Futa and Yanetti…wasn’t that a trial in the 1920s? Joking…history humor is so lame compared to normal humor.

Yeah, what's screwed up is that "poll daddy" treats each vote as a percentage of total votes, not a percentage of voters

since there is a maximum of 40 votes cast per voter (but in reality something less than 40 per), the % acts as though that’s forty (or whatever) voters. Therefore, the way to “read” the poll is by ignoring the % and going off number of votes.

Wait till this year.

For example

the range in votes right now is from 50 (Lombardi and Hextall) down to 8 (Juha Widing).

Wait till this year.

It’s OK, I laughed.

Poor Juha Widing. Try as he might, he’ll just never match Vladimir Tsyplakov.

When I was a kid I thought Vitali Yachmenev was a good hockey player. When I was a kid I was retarded.

Vitaly Yachmenev…definitely had a scrunchy face.

I thought it was funny

But then, there’s no question that I’m a nerd.

Hey, I’m the one who made the joke, so we’re all in the same boat.

I did this pre-caffeine and I’m pretty sure I blanked on Roski. Dang co-owners.

You did pick a lot of people whose names are just fun to say. Tsyplakov, Tsyplakov, Tsyplakov! Bob Miller deserves every award he got.

it's not a test; it's like a Kings Census, no, not quite - i don't know what it is

anyway, i’m pretty sure anyone who checked all forty is either a prankster or institutionalized.

Wait till this year.

You don’t think it’s a test, but I take things SERIOUSLY. Hee hee. No, it was fun.

I knew everyone. Everyone. Man, that’s sad. But thanks for including Chris Kontos. Very curious to see how I rank in terms of people who read this site who are also obsessed with a random winger from the late 80’s who happens to still hold an NHL playoff record.

Sad when more people know who Anhtony is than Bob Miller.

Nice! how about...

Jiggs McDonald
Pete Weber
Stu Nahan
???

And a question I’ve long forgot the answer to: What was the name of the long-time organist at the Forum? (My parents always used to make me trek up to the guy during the 3rd period and request obscure tunes from the 20s & 30s.) Sometimes they would announce his name before the games started.

i'll show you my butt tattoo if you'll show me yours

Oh, yeah!

Were there some ringers mixed in.

Where was Mike Corrigan and that “all time great” Larry Brown?

Vitali Yachmenev, why does he make me laugh?

And oh yes, my all time favorite hockey name, Bart Crashley. The Kings acquired him from Detroit for Terry Harper, Dan Maloney and a 2nd round pick. Oh yeah, the Wings threw in Marcel Dionne.
