Wasn’t Teubert in the same year as Doughnuts?

Yeah, he was drafted in 2008, not 2007.

FIXED

Wait till this year.

Man the Kings certainly had a penchant for trading their picks away in the early years.

I'll offer no comment on the obvious stomach-turners

Instead, I’d like to note that there are several entries where the problem was not giving up draft picks, but what the Kings did with picks kept or acquired — like giving up on Larry Murphy after having spent a #4 overall on him, or trading up… and drafting Wayne McBean.

Also, there are a couple of deals in there that are debatable, rather than obviously bad. The Kings certainly got good service out of Terry Harper (and losing the chance to draft Rod Schutt doesn’t hurt nearly as much as losing the chance to draft Steve Shutt). Ditto Bob Murdoch, though not as much as if they had had Mario Tremblay in his prime.

1996 – traded pick (#4-Alexandre Volchkov) to WAS for Byron Dafoe and Demitri Krystich.

What a steal, the Volchnator was a complete bust.

The Islanders went from Marty McInnis and a 2nd Overall pick to Jesse Joensuu.

Darryl Sydor

Crap, he was awesome in Dallas… Why did we have to trade him?

Sex addiction? Two words=get married.

Sydor and others

including Murphy, Zhitnik, Galley and the often overlooked Gary Sargent. Then Duchesne (not drafted, a free agent signing with no prior NHL experience)…

And to think Duchesne and Galley played together for a season.

Ah, Gary Sargent

Bittersweet memories. Definitely should have been a King for much longer than he was. Even though I was just a kid at the time and didn’t know much about anything, I knew it was a bad thing when he left the team.
