Dean was correct in picking Forbort over Etem. Also, he had to option to trade up to get Etem at # 29. We could have possibly done so giving up our # 49 and # 70 picks this year and/or maybe a 2011 pick instead of the # 70 pick in 2010. Mickey

I was just hoping as Etem kept falling that we would be able to trade back up to the end of the first round in picks 25-28 to try to get him before the Ducks got him. Would have been worth the extra picks to get Forbort AND Etem I think, but I still trust in Dean and the scouts judgement way more than my own so oh well.

On another note, there weren’t as many trades as I expected there to possibly be. Although my favorite was the VS commentator saying that with trading with Atlanta, Chicago was now out of cap trouble.

Oh, and did anyone else think that the Versus announcers were pretty horrible especially the guy doing the interview who kept asking players “How hard is it to sit there and drop in the draft further than you thought you would?”…way to make them feel worse now, and the GM’s “So who are you looking to trade and who were you wanting to pick in that spot?” as if they are going to tell you all the details.

Maybe he’ll burn us half as much as Kariya did?

Anyway, I suspect I’ll always be rooting for this guy, no matter who he plays for.
