Kings defenseman Matt Greene to miss next three months after shoulder surgery
Reports are out from the Kings that Greene underwent shoulder surgery and will be out for up to three months, making it possible that he misses the first part of the season.

So what do you guys think – is there a defensemen needed to shore up the defense while Greene is out?

It doesn't make adding a veteran D any less important, sure
But if we’re talking covering for him until early November, that’s only the first month of the regular season. If we look at this in isolation, you could bring up a prospect for that period of time without losing much.
But considering that this leaves three open spots on the defense in training camp, yeah, it would be nice if the Kings brought in a reliable veteran to solidify.
