The Time Has Come

Hello to everyone! As some of you may have noticed, I have been absent from the blog for a bit now and the time has come for me to tell you why. This is my official blogging retirement post.

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for your participation in making this community grow as quickly as it has. I couldn't be happier about that and couldn't have asked for more regarding the immense interest in the Kings.

Second, perhaps you're curious as to why I'm doing this. Well, I've been blogging since 2007 and it feels like it's my time to step down. When I first started this venture, there were hardly any Kings bloggers out there and I had a lot to say about this team that I loved. I had an intense passion to drive a blog virtually everyday trying to find anyone who was willing to talk Kings hockey with me. Since then I've met some incredible people who amazingly loved the team as much as I did and who could speak intelligently about them at the same time. But, after three full seasons of dissecting, pondering, and obsessing about this team, I find the drive to write daily is hard to come by. Also, my personal life has definitely changed over the past three years so even to find the free time is proving difficult.

As we all know, no one (except the top dogs at SBN) does this for their full-time job and the time commitment was just too much for me. This community at JFTC has been amazing but I feel there are others out there who can drive this train more efficiently than I can as this point. As such, Quisp will be taking over the blog "full time" and I hope everyone continues to help build this community everyday.

Will I pull a Scott Niedermayer of a few years ago? You never know, but don't count on that anytime soon. Perhaps a guest post here or there if Quisp will have me back, but I won't disappear completely. For now, you can follow me at @Connie_Kim if you'd like. Otherwise, it's been wonderful to be here and talk to everyone soon!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The sausage fest just got a lot more sausagey… Best of luck in the future, and hope to see around here on an irregular basis. If nothing else, you can join the commentariat.

Happy Trails, Connie

I’m sorry that you’re stepping away, but I understand how the time you once had for blogging can disappear very quickly. Thanks for creating JFTC and bringing us all together.

I hope we’ll see you again farther along the trail. Sometime soon, we’ll be celebrating the Kings winning the Stanley Cup, and it won’t be quite right without you. :-)

I just saw this post and now I'm sad:-(

It was great to see someone of the opposite sex to not only have an opinion on hockey, but knows and have great insight on this great sport. We hope to at least see another post by you here when the new season starts. Good luck and take care.

welcome to retirement

Connie, my SoCal compadre (and team-rival), congratulations and welcome to the ranks of the retired hockey bloggers society :). I look forward to our future Kings-Ducks games where we may continue spirited hockey discussions, dissing one another’s teams, and of course, texting back and forth scores and commentary on what a sweet/crappy play that was. Thank you for being one of the most informed and loyal Kings fans I know that I’m [secretly] proud to call one of my friends. Here’s to hanging up the keyboard and sitting back to enjoy the game.

With love,
Finny, formerly of Girl with a Puck

Thamks for all the work in creating this place...

I am new here this past season, but I understand that you were/are Jewels from the Crown since the beginning, so thanks for making a place for us to chat and share thoughts.
I hope you find the place where you can come back and write again, just for fun, and I hope you do “pull a Niedermayer.” If so, great! And if not, it will still be wonderful for you, because you will have other things even more fun to do… Good luck, congratualtions on leaving behind a very successful venture, and Go Kings.

End Corporate Personhood.

THE Connie Kim

Not many teams are lucky enough to be represented by someone as smart, passionate and knowledgeable about the game as you, Connie. Thanks for making following my adopted team – the Kings- all the more awesome.

You deserve to feel the love, Girl.

It’s very sneaky that you did this the day I left for Europe. Unacceptable. I demand that you return.
