What the hell is this constant delaying? This morning every news outlet reported the deal with the Devils (yeah, I said it that way on purpose) had been approved, but the NHL has delayed its announcement from Wednesday to 5PM Friday, then 8PM, now it’s 3AM. What in the world is going on?
Are they trying to get a vote by the NHL and PA on this amendment?
Can it really take 2+ days to knock out the proper wording of the amendment? If so, why don’t they just stop announcing times and say it’ll be done as soon as it can?
Is the deal really approved? If so, why can’t they say that it is and the amendment will be announced shortly?
So how much are they over the cap now?

Around $3 million with only 21 signed.
They will need to clear at least $5 million to have a full roster. Most assume that Zubrus and Salvador are gone, either traded or sent to the AHL.
Lou would love to be able to move Rolston, I just can’t imagine any GM trading for him. Maybe the NYI are dumb enough…
Defense win championships, so I take the Kings in 6
:)
It will be interesting to see the direction the new NJ coach takes. Will he open up the offense and hope that Brodeur can handle to additional scoring chances?
I look forward to this

And I can't wait for October 30...
When the Devils come to Staples Center and the Kings make your new Primadonna our Beoch.
Doughty will hipcheck the sh*t outta of him.
:)
Kovalchuk will probably be the most traded for player in NHL11. Having him at a $6.66 million cap hit for 15 years is brilliant.

Did anybody ever comment on the fact that...
…The Devils signed Kovy to a $6.66mil cap hit? Seems rather ominous, no?

Or completely appropriate, depending on who you root for, hehe

To facing a team that is really young and really has no experience in the post-season. Seems pretty in our favor. But then Jonny Quick really scares me.

Quick should not scare you any more than Bernier
Which means, in fact, that you should be scared, period, because Murray will ride whomever is playing better.
Neither of them scare me

We'll see
When Quick gets traded and Bernier turns out to be a bust.

Okay, fine. Believe what you wish.
But you said in your post, “Jonny Quick scares me.” So which is it?
Or are you really as stupid as you make yourself look?
The CUP Final??? ...
… Ohhhh, I assume you expect the NHL to adopt relegation, and that the Kings will drop to the AHL and play for the Calder Cup. I don’t really expect them to play the Devils for it, though. They’ll likely play the Rockford IceHogs or the Sodapop Valley YellowDaisies
