Kings acquire Stefan Legein and a 6th for, well, probably nothing

Kings complete minor trade " LA Kings Insider
The Kings have acquired Stefan Legein and a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for "future considerations." The Philadelphia Daily News reported that the trade clears contract space for the Flyers, who were at their contract limit. [...] Legein is expected to be assigned to the Manchester Monarchs.

You might remember Legein -- if not his name, then at least his story -- because of this odd turn of events three years ago:

The Hockey News: Adam Proteau's Column: THN.com Blog: Don't vilify Stefan Legein for stepping away

The news out of Columbus late Tuesday – namely, that Stefan Legein, the Blue Jackets’ second round pick (37th overall) in 2007, was abruptly retiring at age 19 – left the team’s fans and management in a fair amount of shock. I hope the young man isn’t vilified for his decision. Who among us hasn’t had doubts in our late teens (or for that matter, well beyond that age) about our direction in life? [...] My best wishes go out to Legein, regardless of his lot in life. It couldn’t have been an easy choice – and the last thing he needs right now is thousands of second-guessers dressing him down for it.

Legein was drafted by Columbus, 37th in 2007, in the same second round that Lombardi selected Oscar Moller (52nd) and Wayne Simmonds (61st).

The Demotech Difference: Sports News: Columbus Draft Review
In the second round with the 37th overall pick, the Blue Jackets selected right wing Stefan Legein.  Legein was ranked thirteenth in the final 2007 North American skater rankings of the Central Scouting Service. He is considered a feisty fore-checker.  In the 2007 CHL Prospects game, Legein won the fastest skater competition.

If this was last year, we would probably be asking “Can he play left wing?”.

As I said in the previous thread, this has sweetheart deal written all over it. The Flyers basically paid the Kings a 6th rounder to help them free up a contract slot for a more valuable player.

It is Couturier

Schenn will come up from the AHL as soon as someone gets hurt, whereas Couturier couldn’t go to the AHL, he would have had to return to Juniors and to be frank, as well as Schenn has played so far this year, Cooter (Couturier) has played better and is already playing tough minutes with Philly. Against VAN last night, he played almost 10 minutes in the third with a 1 goal lead.
