I count 24 players on the Kings roster
Fraser ready for opportunity " LA Kings Insider
Fraser has been skating since camp opened and was recently cleared for full practices, including contact. I caught up with him today to ask about his status, and then asked Terry Murray about his plans for Fraser…
FRASER: "I feel great, really. I feel ready to go, but it’s not really up to me. It’s up to the coaches and management and stuff. I’ve got enough practices in now, and enough bag skates to get in shape and stuff like that. I’ll continue to work hard and continue to do what I need to do in order to get better every day and hopefully get an opportunity here sometime soon.’’
Question: Are you totally cleared to play?
FRASER: "Yeah, I’m cleared by the doctor."
That sounds to me like Colin Fraser is about to leave the land of "Injured Non-Roster." Which will give the Kings 15 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goalies. There aren't any waiver-exempt forwards to send down (unless you want to send down Kyle Clifford...). Who gets waived?

“Waive” bye bye to Fraser! (sorry)
(Also on LaKingsInsider Fraser told Murray that he was cleared and Murray responded “OK, I’ll pass that along”)

I don’t read too much into that. Really, Murray has made clear in his time with the Kings that he leaves personnel moves like call-ups and stuff to management and DL without really getting involved unless asked. He mentioned earlier in the quote that he is on IR and I’m pretty sure meant it as he can’t play him as long as he’s still on IR and it is up to DL and the medical staff when he comes off IR. Once that happens, then he can have the option of playing him or not but until them it isn’t even an option.
And here are Murray’s thoughts, when it was mentioned that Fraser said he’s ready to go…
MURRAY: "Yes, but he’s on the I.R."
Well that was the quote that Rich had from Murray
From TM’s point of view, I would guess that the distinction is purely technical. It’s Dean’s job to concern himself with the difference between IR and Injured Non-Roster; all the Head Coach needs to know is that Fraser isn’t available to him.

Lets cut the cruft
I’d say we lose Fraser and Parse.
According to Hammond, Hunter is in the lineup tomorrow.
Parse and Westgarth are sitting. Plus, no way do the Kings sign Hunter and then waive him 2 games into the season. He’s a better depth forward than Fraser and will be on the third line.
Fraser is still on IR, but will be waived when he is due to come off.
Plus, you have to remember that Hunter got a spot with the idea that he’ll better in game 82 than game 1. He hasn’t looked good because he’s coming back from major knee surgery; hopefully he’ll look better down the line. If he doesn’t, well, it’s not that hard to find a 3rd liner at the trade deadline.
Thanks for taking him
the Flyers can now keep Couturier up all season long, as opposed to the free 9 game stint he was going to have before going back to juniors because we were at the 50 contract limit.
Can’t wait till the Kings/Flyers game.
I am actually a fan of both teams. The Flyers are my first love and always will be because I grew up with them, but the Kings are a close second. I moved to SD a few years ago and one of my best friends is a huge Kings fan and so I have been watching them for the last few years with him. Now that Richie, who is my favorite hockey player, is a King, I am on board. I hope they meet each other in the SC Finals at the end of the year. It should be a good game.

I watched the home opener last night, thanks to the Center Ice free preview period, and the Philly announcing team started ticking off all of the ex-Flyers now part of the Kings, from the front office down, and I think it was Bill Clement who remarked that it’s going to feel like a homecoming game. :-)

Yeah
we joke about the Kings being our Philly West team. I really like the non-Philly guys too. Simmer was my favorite King last year, and now he is my favorite Flyer. It’s only been 3 games, but he is killing it on the top PP unit for us. Prongs goal last night was because of Simmer screnning Luongo, he never saw the shot. Too bad Simmer doesn’t get any credit for it on the stats sheet.

SD! Woooooooooooooooooooo! There are actually quite a few of us puckheads in The Dirty Waffle. A good Philly Dive Bar in my neck of the woods is The Tilted Stick. Also, check out the Stout Public House down in the Gaslamp. It’s the area’s preeminent hockey bar, which is sadly owned by Canucks fans.
I find the three best Cheesesteak places in the city are Gaglione Brothers, The Philadelphia Sandwich Co, and Voltero’s Pizza. Check them out and let me know what you think.
Looking forward to the Kings dominate tonight and on Saturday!

I literally live right across the street from the Gaglione’s in Point Loma. Good stuff. Haven’t made it to the Philadelphia Sandwich Co yet, but I have heard good things. I will have to look into the Tilted Stick.
Have you had Jersey Mike’s yet. Best East Coast style subs I have found out here. Try the #13, Mike’s way with pickles and cherry pepper relish.

Philly West, on Westwood Bl. south of Santa Monica Bl. in WLA
sports bar, great cheese steak, been around since before I moved here, which was…1983.
My Kings fan buddy moved up to LA just recently, when I go visit we will have to check that out.

If it happens to be the only one, then Stout House can be the preeminent hockey bar by default, amiright? The closest competition would probably be Cheswick’s West, Nick’s at the Pier, True North, or the parking lot outside of Skate San Diego.
Gaslamp is all about hype and over selling, anyways…

Also Kristie’s on Ingraham but it’s a little…interesting

Kristi’s on Midway, right? That’s within walking distance of anyone who lives close to Gaglione Brothers.
The hostess/owner there is a bit of an…eccentric.

As a hockey fan
I will take what I can get and if I only have 1 bar to choose from, so be it. Rec’d.

There’s just no way to know what Fraser even brings. Who knows if he had been healthy if Hunter would’ve made the team. Fraser’s younger and seems to bring a similar game. WIsh we could have seen what he could bring in camp.
we're over the 50 contract limit
Why the deuce did we make that trade with philly then??

I have the Kings at 48 contracts by using Cap Geek.
I’m sure Quisp will update the contract count post soon, but I count 48 contracts for the Kings right now.
With Tofolii and Andreoff are back in juniors, I believe they don’t count against the 50 contract limit.
I think that’s correct
Can’t see DL doing a favor that would put his own club over the limit.
Dinglebarnin' It JftC
exactly
actually, it’s roach, toffoli and weal who are signed but don’t count against the 50 contract limit because they are 18 or 19 years old. Andreoff does count against the limit because he’s 20. 51 contracts minus the three is 48. i.e. what you said.
muzzin is off-ir and is in manchester; and you still count against the limit when you're IR, so it wouldn't matter
Think it will be a twofer. Parse and Fraser will go. Of Hunter & Moreau… have not seen enough of either to judge.
Here is one:
Legein is already in Manchester.
Parse waived.
Westbrook packaged with Fraser for a pick and a future?
Hunter/Moreau given a 3rd line slot
Vey or Loktionov moves up.
Are Teemu Selanne and Melanie Griffith Twins?
Per Hammond, Parse is “NOT” [my emphasis] in the lineup tomorrow, nor is he going to be a healthy scratch. Which, I guess, means IR or waiver-land.
I'm guessing it is a typo and Hammond meant to write, "now" instead of "not"
Hammond wrote:
“After two games in Europe, during which Parse didn’t exactly distinguish himself, he’s
not slotted to be a healthy scratch tomorrow night against New Jersey.”
Put “now” there instead and it makes sense.
Thanks for the clarification, Quisp

Mulletgate
Was it ever resolved? I never saw anything about Bettman’s decision and internet searches are not particularly helpful. I figured I would have seen stories here and PD but don’t recall having done so. Any insight would be much appreciated.
I wanna see what Fraser can do
Unfortunately, I don’t think management feels the same… He gone…
Come at me, bro.
