Voynov not in the line-up in Manchester today...flying to LA maybe?
I would be surprised if this is not the case.
p.s. the Monarchs are down 4-2 going into the third, against whom I forget; Springfield? Andrei Loktionov has a goal and an assist, to bring his total to 2 goals and 5 assists in 4.67 games (tied for 6th overall in league scoring; he's also #1 in the league in plus/minus). Jake Muzzin got the other goal. And Jeff Zatkoff is in net, his first start of the year. (Martin Jones has a 1.26 GAA and .956 SV%, which is #1 in the league among goalies who have played more than 2 games.)

It's official
Also hinted he may hang around even when Doughty returns. I’d be worried if my name was Parse.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Perhaps in a vision? But I have a gut feel (and my gut is prodigious) that he will stay up when DD returns, though I don’t see why that would effect Parse. Last I looked, Parse was a forward. I’m thinking the Philly game was Drewiske’s last as a King.
Doubt it.
Drewiske was solid against Philly and doesn’t lose any development by sitting in the press box.
Voynov sitting for 10+ games at a time would be a waste. He’s better off in Manchester.
Voynov gets almost $30,000 per week while on the NHL roster. If Doughty takes 2 weeks to get healthy, Voynov will almost double his $65,000 AHL salary. Something that might have helped keep Holloway with the Kings if he was called up last year instead of King.
I also felt Davis played well. Even used his size a couple of times.
But looking at time on ice Drewiske logged under 14 minutes. Greene was close at 18+. The others logged 22+, 27+ and 30+ and carried the game. More so considering the time spent on the PK.
With the return of Martinez I see no harm in sitting Drewiske for a game or two to see what Voynov brings.
Are Teemu Selanne and Melanie Griffith Twins?
Ack
Likely a misinterpretation by myself and a few others in the hoopla at the blog where Hammond mentions “he could still return when healthy.” Figured he meant Voynov because I figured it was logical beyond all doubt that Doughty would return with healthy. Right? Perhaps reading into things too much I lost focus of the actual picture.

Dumb Doughty
Was kind of a bonehead play, going up ice on a rush with his head down. I appreciate the initiative, but our 7 million dollar man (yes he’s under more scrutiny) has to be more careful than that…
i like it...
…but i didnt catch why martinez was a scratch….i thought he has played well….idk….i do think drewiske’s days may be numbered….maybe we will shop him to philly! lol…also why dress westgrowth for that game and only play him for what…one shift???

Great man!
Guys a healthy scratch one day, and in the Kings line up the next. Fire somebody damn it!
I hate TM and like DaviS Drewiske more than most, but...
I don’t mind TM sitting a player now and then so that those regularly sitting in the press box can play. For a variety of reasons, you’ve got to play your back-ups every once in a while. When to sit a regular player is a more-debateable question though.
But if you mean Voynov, and not Martinez...
Voynov was most likely scratched after the Kings informed Manchester that he was being called up. Very common.
No worries.
I was being sarcastic. I only want to fire Kompon, and I’m sure he has no say so on Voynov.
As we all expected
Pair him up with Willie Mitchell, see how soon Willie’s head explodes with Voynov’s defensive irresponsibilty… Seriously though, LA was where Voynov should’ve been from the start of the season…
Hmm, if only we could move Matt Greene…
Come at me, bro.

Greene is our only physical defenseman (and he owned in that department yesterday). Voynov doesn’t fill that void.
For every moment of triumph, for every instance of beauty, many souls must be trampled.
Wonder how come nobody pays attention to what type of player Voynov replaces?" Let’s keep Voynov and waive Parse" or “let’s get rid of Whiskey, and have Voynov ride the pine” What? If Voynov is here more then 10 games, and if we have an injury to a forward, how does Voynov help? and without Parse, can we send down Voynov after 10 games, and bring up Kozun? or, are we just screwed, and have to expose another player?
i like that game
let’s waive hunter, moreau
and bring up loktionov and that russian kid in russia
sorry, i went apples for apples
that russian kid in russia
Well, if you’re talking about “I score ze goals” Kitsyn, I believe he’s still under contract to his KHL team for another year. He wrangled out of it just long enough to play North American juniors while he still could, but Magnetigorsk (sp?) still owns him for this season.
Besides — and I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Kings uniform, too — there’s no evidence that he’s NHL-ready right now. Loktionov, definitely. Kitsyn, not yet.

yea
i know. but i just watched the russia/canada wjc that i taped way back in january.
got a little angry watching schenn, eakin, johanssen, ellis, cowen, tarasenko, kuznetsov, et al.
we need a talented, young forward with some spark. i’m stamping my foot right now.
Almost 40 years I’ve been following hockey, and I didn’t realize that there’s absolutely no difference between the competition level at juniors and the NHL, and that you don’t need any maturation time to make the transition. Well, one learns something every day.

exactly what i’ve been saying the whole time

Whether he does something amazing or stupid
Voynov is must-see TV… Even more so than JMFJ…

We’ll see if he has two GWG in his first four games . . .

Looking Forward for My First Look at Voynov
I didn’t watch any of the live streamed pre-season games, so other than the AHL All Star Game last year, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Voynov play. Looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about.
Voynov in for the home opener according to Insider.
And he’s getting paired with Mitchell.
Intersting quote from Murray
"When we had the conversation in Europe, for him to go back to Manchester, with the coaching staff and Dean and Hexy, we all reassured him, `Feel good about your game. You’re on the threshold. You’re ready to make that step across and become a player on a regular basis in the NHL.’ It’s here a little bit sooner than what we anticipated, and it’s unfortunate that it is, but it’s his opportunity to show that he can play. He’s not called up to fill in for an injured player in my mind. This is a time for him to show us what he can do.’’
