The Manchester Monarchs 2011-12 roster
| Dwight King | Andrei Loktionov | Brandon Kozun |
| Jordan Nolan | Justin Azevedo | Linden Vey |
| Rich Clune | [Robbie Czarnik] | Marc-Andre Cliche |
| David Meckler | Ray Kaunisto | Cam Paddock |
| [Andy Andreoff] | (Justin Johnson) | |
| (Rob Mignardi) |
| Jake Muzzin | Slava Voynov |
| Thomas Hickey | Patrick Mullen |
| Nicolas Deslauriers | David Kolomatis |
| Andrew Campbell | (Joe Charlebois) |
| (Jordan Hill) | (Shaun Heshka) |
| Jeff Zatkoff |
| Martin Jones |
| Jean-Francois Berube |
Muzzin is actually on IR with the Kings, but will be sent down when he's healed. Players whose names are in brackets are unsigned Kings draft picks. Players whose names are in parentheses are not in the Kings system. Everyone else has an NHL contract. Andreoff, even though he's 20, still has junior eligibility (Oshawa Generals) and might be headed there soon.
Anyone in Manchester know how the lines are skating? Players are sorted more or less per the depth chart, but I'll update as advised.
Oh, one more thing:
If any members of the community happen to be in the Monarch's neighborhood, or are Monarchs die-hards, or are interested in a more active Monarchs presence on this blog, drop a note in the comments. I would like to be able to do more Monarchs content on JftC, but we're geographically challenged. Anyway, I just wanted to get a handle on the level of interest.

Of those I’d like to see Loki, Kozun, and Voynov with the big club next year. Could Loki slot in as a third line center with Richards taking most of the defensive duties? Loki + Kozun + Lewis = a lot of speed and a good amount of finish. Probably more a dream than reality though.
Stoll, Penner, Parse, and Mitchell are all done with their current contracts next year. Could Muzzin step in to Mitchell’s role at that point? If not then how about the year after when Scud’s is done or the year after that when Greene is? I’m thinking so.
I’m confident that at least, Muzzin will be an adequate replacement for Greene in a couple of years. Maybe not at ping-pong, but certainly on the ice. At that point, though, he may get some competition from Forbort.
As for replacing Mitchell or Scuds, if he continues to develop and improve, I could see that, too; it just depends on how much ‘veteran leadership’ counts in making that decision.

Looking at game/camp pairings, I'd guess:
Nolan-Loktionov-Kozun
King-Azevedo-Vey
Kaunisto-Cliche-Czarnik
Meckler-Andreoff-Clune/Johnson
Muzzin-Voynov
Hickey-Deslauriers
Mullen/Kolomatis- Campbell
Zatkoff
Jones
Vey moves to center when Loktionov gets called up. Damn, they’re pretty good!
Yes
I’d love to see more Monarch’s content. After all, MM news is Kings news as far as I’m concerned.

Wow that looks like a weak offensive roster. The absence of Moller and Holloway is loud and clear now that I actually look at the lineup.
I’m glad the Kings bottom 6 is overcrowded and filled with essentially interchangeable parts. It makes for easy substitutions in the event of injuri*s on the third and fourth lines and quick fixes on the top 6. Other than Loktionov, it doesn’t look like a single Monarch could serviceably play on the top 2 lines.
I appreciate your concern, however I do disagree. I believe that with time and experience, both Linden Vey and Brandon Kozun have the pontential to be top-6 forward contributors for the Kings.

they're weaker on the left side, but loktionov, czarnik, kozun and vey are excellent, and don't forget hickey, voynov and deslauriers
and then there’s toffoli and weal after their juniors seasons end. i would say they’re all young, but the skill is certainly there.
though you’re right that the loss of moller is huge.
I see, I wasn’t writing clearly. I was only talking about this season.
I absolutely believe that with time and experience Kozun will be a solid NHL player. I have high hopes for him in the future. Don’t know much about Vey but have read some positive things.
As for this season, I don’t have much confidence in either bringing much in the event of a call-up, that’s all.
I agree with you there. Thanks for clarifying.

What about Andy?
I’m the only one on the Andy Andreoff bandwagon right now. His time will come. You just wait and see. He’s the next Eric Belanger.

I think it might be better if they ship Berube off to Ontario
He’s not getting any playing time in Manchester, from the looks of it… And if Andreoff can’t get into that lineup, off to Ontario for him too…
The more you drink, the less gruesome I look.

That would be cool
Might finally motivate me to check out some Reign games this season. I have never seen Andreoff (didn’t make it to camp this year), so my mind is open and I’d be happy to share VT’s enthusiasm for him.

Haha that’s almost two people on the bandwagon now!

Would love to see them here in Ontario. I know they already have three goal tenders in camp, so they would have to lose two to make room for Berube.
I also know the roster out here is a bit small right now. Would love to see some Kings prospects in the line-up. They would get plenty of ice time.
Remember, amateurs built the ark • Professionals built the Titanic
Assume that Berube.....
….Will be moved to Ontario once Zatkoff gets back from Europe……would be nice if the Kings could add a few more players to the Reign roster; It’s a beautiful building in Ontario and the team works hard, but have not had enough talent (especially on the offensive end) to compete the past two years.
