From a Flyer's fan, good luck this year. You are my defacto Western Conference team with Richards, until he retires. My favorite player by far, and still one of the top 15-20 in the game, easily. Plays through anything, will hit anyone, and all the guys will love him. Just ordered his Kings jersey, never in a million years thought that would happen, and the only way I won't root for the Kings is if we meet up. And if we do, honestly I could not be angry if he carried the cup. Good luck and I need to work on my insomnia to watch as many Kings games as possible this season.

Certainly, Richards really stood out in the Rangers game, and I have a feeling that we’ll all understand how you guys in Philly felt about him soon enough. :-)

On the other hand, I saw the Flyers-Devils game tonight on Center Ice, and I think you guys will understand why we hated to lose Wayne Simmonds, too. The Philly announcers were pretty fired up about him, and I could only nod my head and smile. Like Richards, Simmonds is the kind of player where you just root for him even when he’s not on your team anymore. Ian Laperriere was the same way, too.

Yeah Simmonds has looked great. You know there are always those young guys who have some potential but just kind of flounder out there. Wayne seems like he has the ability to get better, and at times he has looked progressively better. Definitely not a lack of want in his game, which is usually the key, and really that’s what made Richards so good. Literally no one on the ice had his desire. And, some people might argue, but if he doesn’t look good, chances are he is playing through pain.

But all in all, it will take some time for them to meld. Murray having coached him before should help out quite a bit. Other than that, just have to keep the health so those old guys show the youngsters how you step it up in the playoffs.

You can still love a player after he leaves your team .. but you don’t adopt that team as your second team .. Where is your allegiance ? Let me ask you something .. your showering the love towards LA because of Richards… if the Kings tomorrow trade Penner and Richards to get a Malkin or a Crosby or an Ovechkin .. would you still claim the Kings as your 2nd team ? no… So ..

And this is why I’m so glad you’ve been banned from BSH. People can adopt as many teams as they want to. That by no means changes anything about their loyalty towards their #1 team. If you want your favorite player to do well and have success it is absolutely natural to wish the same to the whole team. Why? Because hockey is a team sport, if you haven’t realized it yet. Individuals mean nothing.

And telling someone they should be shot for openly admitting they will support a team because their favorite player went there? Wow, just wow. You are that kind of person that gives the Flyers fans the label they have. Try to contribute with something educated on these boards for a change. You see, you can disagree with anyone, but you don’t have to come out as complete idiot while doing so.

I'm in love with the Lightning, the Flyers are my fling and I have a crush on the Flyers fans. LA Kings by default.

Who is calling names ? not I.

Thats why GOD made Chocolate Vanilla and Strawberry .. to each his own flavor and opinion. My opinion is you only root for one team. I wish all players well as I love Hockey and the athletes, but I only love 1 team, I have respect for a few but I dislike 29 teams. Some I despise (NY Rangers ~ Montreal Canadians) .. As far as the Kings ~ I dont despise them and I dont support them either. I like Gagne, Richards, Terry Murray, Kopitar, Brown and Justin Williams (I just wish he could be healthy.)

If you want to point fingers and criticize .. well.. you stated ..

As I said, you can have your opinion, that’s human nature and right but you can word your disagreement differently, lay out some valid reasons for your disagreement rather than just tell someone they deserve to be shot. No one is telling you that you must have sympathy for more teams and you as well shouldn’t tell others they can’t.

I’m not pointing fingers because you yourself pointed the biggest finger at yourself by posting your comment with a title as it has. And yes, your attitude and the way you express your opinions on SBN boards is something I strongly disagree with and dislike. It is also, as I stated, the same attitude the Flyers fans are criticized for.

Also, I said it is a label. Label which in most cases tends not to be true yet thanks to some individuals and media attention it may seem justified. My signature is aimed at those Flyers fans I’ve known for a while and talked with numerous times. They are educated, they have class and they have hockey knowledge along with passion and loyalty. These are the Flyers fans I adore. You, sir, are an exception.

No, you weren’t supposed to say anything to being banned. I just expressed that I was happy about it.

Lastly, next time please don’t bring up in a discussion a man in whose existence I don’t believe. Thank you very much.

Relax…. they are expressions.

I merely disagree with rooting for two teams. The only few reasons… IMHO …people root for two teams is if their city never had a team and then they got a team (I.E. Ottawa city people being Habs or Toronto Fans for 20 some years then in the 1990’s the Sen’s come into the fray.) Or if your city’s team has been so darn bad for so darn long you want another team to root for. (NY Islanders fans now becoming Rangers fans) .. or if your city has more than one team. (NY Islanders & NY Rangers) ..

But to me .. I believe in Loyalty.. I believe in rooting for only one team and one team only.

It was a good game last night .. I rooted for the FLYERS .. and when Johnson scored the winning goal with an assist by Richards on his Signature Fake Shot move.. I was upset.. Upset that the FLYERS took dumb penalties .. and upset that people boo’ed Richards.. and upset that FLYERS fans rooted for him at the same time during the game. I dont root for Kopitar, Penner, Brown or anyone else against FLYERS.. why would I root for Richards. .. I wish everyone who makes the AHL or NHL all the best and I hope that they have a great career.. Just not at the Expense of the FLYERS.

Because you are a troll who invokes your sanctimonious, self-righteous beliefs every chance you get because you are delusional to think that a). anonymous people on the internet care, and b). your beliefs and past actions somehow make you more special.

People should not be shot because they have an opinion or a different view of things than you. And no, ROB, saying it is just an “expression” does not justify it. That is not a common expression. At least not where I am from. But I did not serve in the military, I’ve never dated a non-Caucasian woman, and I’m atheist. So what the hell do I know.

I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster. I wish Mike Richards, Simon Gagne and the rest of the LA Kings the best of luck as long as either of those two are members of your organization. I just hope you guys lose Saturday and any other time you face us.

As for Simmonds, we already love him here. He represents Philly well with his hard work and team first mentality.
