So, if Doughty is suspended for the Oshie hit, who gets called up?
I think he'll get a couple of games.
If Doughty is going to sit, do they call up Jake Muzzin? Thomas Hickey? Or just insert Davis Drewiske? I guess you'd go back to Johnson - Scuderi, keep Mitchell - Voynov as a pair, and go with Drewiske/Muzzin/Hickey - Matt Greene. I would love to see Hickey, really. Not going to happen, but I would love it.
What do you think?

Didn't see the hit but if he does get canned for a few games...
This is the best time for a Hickey… I mean Thomas Hickey… He’s an puck moving D-man as well, so he makes the most sense…
First of all, nobody's ever thought that. Ever.
You're more than welcome to #Occupymybed
I didn't see it either
But I’d say it depends on the length. Just one game, I think Drewiske gets thrown a consolation prize. Bringing someone out from Manchester for only a few days seems like a bit much. Two games, then you’re talking about a trip of about a week; then it’s worth bringing someone out.
I agree that Hickey makes sense, and I’d like to see him get the call.

Almost definitely gonna be a suspension.
It was exactly the hit the NHL is cracking down on- cross check into the numbers 3 feet from the boards and with 2 seconds left it was pretty stupid, to boot.
That having been said I would be a little surprised to see Hickey get the call this time because Voynov is already in the line-up and I just can’t see Lombardi-Murray using two rookie defensemen in an early pivotal division game. They’ll put in the known commodity, Whiskey.
I hope I’m wrong, but I expect Hickey to have to wait a bit longer.
I Don't Think He'll Be Suspended
The hit looked worse than it actually was. It looked to me to more of a shove than anything else – the type of play you see all the time, but Oshie took a nasty looking spill, because he hadn’t braced for it. But apparently he’s okay, the call on the ice was only 2 minutes (although with 1.5 seconds to go, it didn’t matter how it was for) and was correct. Saw them debate it on TSN this morning, and the consensus was a fine if anything.
Now, if he is suspended (and with Shanahan, it could easily happen), if it’s only one game, then it will be Drewiskie, as there’s no time to get anyone else to Dallas, since they play again tonight. And if it’s two games, I still don’t think they’ll call anyone up, since the callup would likely only be for one game. Personally, I think they’ll stick with Drewiskie if Doughty gets suspended.
This wasn't even noticeable enough to get a Shannaban post on Puck Daddy
So my guess is that he won’t be suspended, especially as a penalty was given anyway.
Still, boneheaded move by DD.
Yeah, Suspension Unlikely
Otherwise, Muzzin (with Drewiske getting the minutes).
Division game…Drewiske if a suspension…WTF is with Doughty? Not wasting time developing a jacket.

Stupid hit
Absolutely a fine but would also like to see a suspension, if just for one game. A lot of raw talent with Doughty but he needs to get his head in the game… a suspension could be a good thing.
Would be a huge blow to Wiske’s ego if he didn’t get the chance. Plus, I thought he played well with Greene in the past.
Just Announced - $2,500 Fine, no suspension
So, no call-ups for Hickey or Muzzin or playing time for Drewiskie.
Hell, he makes more taking a sjower
A cross check shove to the numbers. Bad play on Doughty. He got off easy. Doc didn’t go crazy over it but seemed to double check that. It was only a minor.

Despite Versus frothing at the mouth, it didn’t even warrant a hearing. I think it was like the Zuccarello hit on Clifford.

Pretty much.
I think that “pre-season Shannie” would have levied a 2 game suspension, but he’s been told to back off somewhat by the GMs. Mitigating factors were that it wasn’t overly hard contact, DD doesn’t have a track record, and there was no injury, but still, I wouldn’t have felt like we were wronged if he’d gotten one game for it.
It was a shove from behind, which is why I said:
I think it was like the Zuccarello hit on Clifford.
That got an identical $2500 fine, and it was in the first game of the regular season.

It was certainly closer to Zuccarello’s hit, than it was to something like Chris Stewart’s last week – which got him a three game suspension. The fine, which is the max they can give out (and is, in my mind ridicilously low), serves as a warning to Doughty, and will make him a repeat offender the next time he does it – therefore more likely to get suspended.
Yeah, I think the limits on fines are pretty ridiculous; I would rather that be raised. But comparing that to incidents which earned suspensions, it’s more of “you have to be smarter, no shoving guys near the boards, this is your warning” than the Stewart-Kronwall incident. That also earned a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. IMO, it was more violent.
Here’s the video of Shanahan’s explanation on the Stewart hit, if anyone wants to compare.

So now that this thread is officially moot, I will throw out my QLCBOID (Quisp Leap to Conclusions Based on Insufficient Data, pronounced QUILK-boyd) of the day: The Kings in their last 7 games are 5-2, and in those 7 games, Quick is 3-2 while Bernier is 2-0. Ergo, Murray should play Bernier more. QED
I would shorten to Qboid.
However, I think of it as observations based on data in progress. QuObDiP.
