Kings-Blackhawks Preview
Since we last met the Chicago Blackhawks...
IN: Andrew Brunette, Steve Montador, Marcus Kruger, Jamal Mayers, our old friend Sean O’Donnell, Clifford's ragdoll Dan Carcillo, Sami Lepisto
OUT: Brian Campbell, Jake Dowell. Waived: Rostislav Olesz
Possible lines:
Stalberg-Toews-Hossa
Frolik-Kane-Sharp
Brunette-Bolland-Bickell
Carcillo-Kruger-Mayers
Keith-Seabrook
Leddy-Hjalmarsson
O'Donnell-Montador
In Net: Corey Crawford
Much like last year, the Hawks are scoring boatloads of goals (3.26/game) but also giving up a lot (3.09 goals against). Much of that has to do with a penalty kill that's dead last in the league (73.2%). They've had some ugly losses lately, followed by a 6-5 win over the hapless Ducks. (They scored four in the third period alone. I swear Anaheim is the league's Prozac.)
As for the Kings, they're angry over an OT loss to the Stars, and rightly so; it's cold comfort that giving up a third period lead is a rare event for this team. The same lineup appears to be set (poor Richardson, poor Lewis), so hopefully they can bounce back from that uncharacteristic result.

Listening to radio pre game NYR vs. Philly
An interview w Keith Jones. He said this Philly team is the fastest Philly team he’s ever seen. So, to DL, to do his version of Philly, might be wise to take a look at what Philly is doing now instead of what they did twenty years ago.
Memo: the nhl has changed.
I’m not sure Dean is building a plodding, hard-nosed and rough and tumble team, if that’s what you mean. If you look at the two rosters side by side I don’t think there is any appreciable difference in speed, and in fact the Kings may have the edge down the middle and on the wings (and I actually think Greene would beat Pronger in a foot race!). Finally, if fights are any measure the Kings have only 7 to Philly’s 17, as of tonight.
Now if the issue is with playing Hunter and Moreau over Richardson, Lewis, Loki, etc, I’m right with you, but it may also be as much of a head coach issue as anything else.
I am watching the Flyers/Rangers…and the Flyers (except for Simmonds) don’t look very fast tonight. I’ve yet to see a good stick to stick pass yet.
Can’t believe its only 1-0 at the end of 2. Flyers always starting deep
Are Teemu Selanne and Melanie Griffith Twins?
Partially because they have four key players injured. Two are Pronger whose leadership is huge and JVR who IS fast and a dangerous forward. Forgot who the other two are but that accounts for a lot. Also, the Rangers do have speed as well. I still don’t see the Kings as a particularly fast team is all.
This ought to make Niesy happy
Murray: I go back through those games and look at Kopitar and Richards. They end up playing against top lines in almost every one of those games. So I’m not just putting Stoll’s line into a situation of being the line against their top opposition. So they opportunity to play the game has not changed. His look, his role, has not change.
We can hande the truth!

PS
If you flip Sharp and Hossa you have our lines for tonight and you may see Kruger up on Bolland’s Right side at times.
In addition, I think Emery MIGHT go tonight
Also you may see
our D Pairings as 2-8 4-7 32/6/20-5 at times…
Thanks for the updates. I’m driving on the road all day, so I had to go with the internet’s best guess in the morning.
