Kings' Heidi Androl interviews Kings' Corey Perry after OT goal in Kings' Victory over -- wait, what??
I know they put you up to it, those mean Fox people! But, to quote someone held in high esteem by everyone in the Kings' community:Heidi Androl - Los Angeles Kings - Team -- LA Kings Official Website
Now in her third season as the female face of the Los Angeles Kings and the Manager of Production for Kings Vision, she has helped to increase viewership on the [Kings] team’s Web site and broadcasts since 2007. [...] In her first year with the team she was deemed one of Los Angeles’ up and coming sportscasters and she continues her quest towards being the best. Heidi has enjoyed her many features with the Kings, whether it was the Pre-Season in Salzburg, Austria and opening the season in London, dog sledding and curling in the Canadian Rockies or just covering a [Kings] practice at the Toyota Sports Center. All have given the [Kings] fans a unique inside look at the Los Angeles Kings. Heidi claims getting a hard time from [Kings' announcers] Bob, Jim and Patrick each night on the [Kings] telecast, getting to know the [Kings] fans personally and seeing the [Kings] team transform on the ice are the biggest joys of the job! Prior to joining the Kings, Heidi worked in the Aerospace industry which led to her appearance on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” where she starred in 13 out of 14 episodes.

Indifferent...
Yeah sheis a pretty girl and seems to have “above average” knowledge of hockey. I’ll leave it to the rest of you to judge what the comparator is. The interviews seem pretty scripted on her part. I kinda look at it that she is just doing her job. Patrick O’Neal gets on my nerves, I don’t think he knows anything about hockey, so given a choice, would rather listen (?look at) her.
I am just happy that the games are on to watch. Miller and Fox are outstanding…
No, I'm serious.
First of all, have you seen the bad imitations of her around the league? They always seem like bad anchorwomen trying to do “news,” and they don’t seem to understand a single word coming out of their heads.
Second, she plays the role I like to call “the hot dork,” in the same sense that Julia Roberts used to. The hot dork tells jokes, eats hamburgers and gets black eyes.
Third, I like that she actually listens to the answers to her questions, after she asks them. You’d think this would be more common, but it’s not.
Fourth, have you seen the video where Jason Labarbera dresses her up in goalie equipment? Sublime genius.
That’s all I’ve got.
Wait till this year.
Good analogy, you forgot to add…“and likes going to hockey games”.
Androl was pretty ditsy at first but has improved and gained confidence doing interviews, especially the locker room interviews…which I feel is her strong point.
The rink side work and promo’s tend to be a little bubbly for me. My wife likes her and relates to her as a women doing whats needed to make her way in a man’s world.
O’Neil and Androl are clearly scripted…as you say, dorks, but both provide decent interviews that can pull players beyond canned lines, especially O’Neil who does good work with Fox.
Its a shame they don’t have more players as articulate as Sean O’Donnell to interview.
Are Teemu Selanne and Melanie Griffith Twins?
Flames fan here, I really like Heidi Androl. I didn’t even know about her appearance on the Apprentice to tell you the truth. I never knew about her until she came to the Kings.
Critiquing sports reporters is pretty touchy business because it often comes down to personal preference. It honestly isn’t Androl’s looks that matter to me, although she is not ugly.
What I like about her is her positive energy and smiles and yeah I’ll admit it she makes me laugh but she also takes care of business and listens to the hockey part of it. I doubt she can name every player in the NHL on every team and spit out their latest stats but as a reporter she brings a bit of fun to things.
She was up in Calgary covering the Heritage Classic and I liked her interviews with the Flames players. The players like her. I’ve seen those guys interviewed hundreds of times, they were smiling at her, having fun in the interviews etc.
It is all relative but when you see Kristen Reid of the Canucks for example, well I rest my case. She isn’t really bad, she is just typical fair. It isn’t what is being said or how they look so much as how it is said and Androl brings a positive vibe to the reporting. I think you guys take it for granted – she is the best female reporter in the NHL imo and feel free to find a better one.
Here is a clip of Reid of the Cnaucks.

If we were to trade Iginla to the Kings for a 1st and Simmonds or some other deal I would require Heidi get thrown into the trade as well – LOL.
She has spunk! So she’s ok in my book, they are right on that a ton of these chicks are usually ditsy and don’t give a crap. I don’t even care how they look as long as it isn’t too bad………
