Let’s hope that trend continues. Forcing a game 7 with a win at home would be a great way to cap the season if it comes to that.
Actually, if the Kings tonight, I actually like their chances in Game 7. Momentum would be very much on their side. And if this is, as Quisp has said, a matchup between two teams perceived as psychologically fragile, you definitely want to be the team that’s rallying rather than the team looking back over your shoulder.

Agreed. SJ would have all the pressure on them and their recent failures in the post seasn to think about. I forgot who said it, but any time a team gets down 3-1 or 3-0 in the series and comes back to tie it, they are usually the ones who end up winning game 7. Flyers did it last year and right now, I think a lot of people think the Blackhawks are the favorites going into game 7 against the Canucks. The Kings winning the series would trump the debacle that was game 3.

No kidding. :-) Talk about fragile, that’s how Vancouver’s goaltending situation looks right now, assuming that Schneider is hurt as badly as it looked (I haven’t seen any updates, but I’m assuming it’s a groin injury). I would not bet money on the ’Nucks in that game at this point.

I would bet on Vancouver
They will come out very determined. I predict a 3-0 Canucks win in Game 7. But then they get their asses handed to them in the second round.
Only 20 teams have ever come back from a 3-1 deficit and won the series. I can’t find the stats for how many came back and forced a 7th game, only to lose, though I admittedly did not look very hard. Of the 209 teams that have trailed 3-1 and went on to lose, I am wiling to bet at leat 15-20 managed to force a 7th game and probably more (considering that the Kings did it in back-to-back seasons in ’01 and ’02 it must happen semi-frequently).
As for teams down 3-0, it’s actually even right now. 3 have won the 7th game (Leafs over Detroit in ‘42, Islanders over Pens in ’75, and Flyers over B’s last year) and 3 have lost it (Rangers lost to B’s in ‘39, Red Wings lost to Leafs in ’45, Isles lost to Flyers in ’75). The Hawks-Canucks game tomorrow night will break the tie! Isn’t it amazing that the Islanders in ‘75 almost did it in back-to-back series?? It’s also striking how while spread apart in 30-year intervals, these 0-3 comebacks seem to then happen a couple at a time- 1939, 1942, 1945 followed by two in 1975 and then 2010 and 2011. Weird!
All in all, I don’t think being the team making the comeback makes you any more likely to win the 7th game than the team who has lost two or three in a row.
Well
Im reeeeeallly liking these stats so lets hope the Kings keep the momentum going.

So obviously we got heavily outchanced last game but still won. Johnson/ Scuderi had a rough go and it looks like the Couture line did most of the damage against them as well as against the Lewis line. Everything else looks not so bad. It’ll be interesting to see how stuff matches up tonight. In particular if JJ bounces back after a pretty good game 4.
Quite possibly the only LA Kings fan living in Brooklyn, New York.
The more I think about this...
The more it hurts.
I never thought the Kings would lose against the Sharks because they lacked defensive depth…
This series put the lie to that belief!
