Summer Fun: I'd seen the beach-ball picture, but not this

In other news, Dan Cloutier is still listed in the SBN tagger as a Red Wings goalie.

It figures!

A puck that big, and it still found it’s way into the net.

Heyyy, Stamkos finally signed! 5 years $7.5M per.

You know the Doughty rumors are next. BRACE YOURSELVES.

That was my first reaction as well. “Great, now the Doughty rumors will hit overdrive”. If you thought it was bad before it just got much, much worse. After all, what else is Eklund going to write about now?

Dominoes!

To the battle stations. Remember, not every Twitter account is a source, but always heed your McKenzie. In case of an emergency, your stuffed Bailey may be used as a flotation device.

6 yrs for 6.25 mil per season…..

is it price is right rules? closest without going over?
yrs must match and dollar amount must match? or is it cap hit?
give us some parameters here!!!

Well what sort of prize do people want? I could write them a story. Or send them a Bernie Nicholls card from the Forum Blue era (his mullet is looking particularly fine). Otherwise, gloating rights and the commendation of your peers work nicely.

Each guess should have three items:

Years, cap hit, and a “yes/no” vote on the inclusion of a no movement/no trade clause.

Like “8 years, 6.5M, without a NMC/NTC”

What about closest cap hit as the first item (over or under), then closest in years (over or under), then the NMC thing as a tiebreaker? It’s our afternoon to kill, I’m open to suggestions. :)

You’re right, it’d get lost here.

I just ran out of things to say about Cloutier’s awfulness

Meh, I think he’s going to be gunning for something very close to Stamkos and whatever Weber signs for in a couple of weeks.

5 yrs, 7.15MM, partial NMC

by SCSF on Jul 19, 2011 1:50 PM PDT up reply actions

You think Weber gets 7? I suppose if he wants a short term…hmm

by Niesy on Jul 19, 2011 1:57 PM PDT up reply actions

Well, it’d definitely be nice from our bargaining perspective if he takes less on a contract that carries into his golden years. Nashville’s got a scary amount of cap space right now but I suppose they’re going to want some flexibility for Rinne and Suter next year. I’ve officially overthought this, which almost certainly means that I’ll be wrong :)

by SCSF on Jul 19, 2011 2:06 PM PDT up reply actions

I thought I read something which said that Weber wanted assurances that Rinne and Suter woluld be signed, too. I don’t know if that means he’d only go short term, or if he would give them a nice cap hit to make it all happen (if any of this is true). Now I can’t remember where I saw it, which makes me a bad blogger/rumormonger. I should track that down.

I’m part of the problem, not the solution!

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re a great rumormonger;)

Makes sense anyway, that Weber would want the other two stars re-signed, particularly Suter… Can’t see him sacrificing too many ducats on their behalf, mind you.

Ehh, I’m looking through Spector’s Hockey, and I can’t find it. Maybe it was just speculation based around the Lombardi-Lebda salary dump. But Poile did say he wanted money for Weber and Suter and Rinne right after.

I am sure he will still be very handsomely paid.
