Free Agents 2012-2020
Here is a chart of the Kings' free agents, sorted by year. Asterisks indicate RFAs. The second chart shows some of the notable UFAs over the course of those same years (though many will extend their contracts before they hit free agency -- but you knew that).

At this point, we have so many promising-looking prospects that I don’t know exactly how to feel about the second chart.

The kings are finally at a point where they have a strong NHL roster and a deep enough system to fill the gaps when some of the higher priced guys leave via free agency. Next summer the Kings can replace Penner and Stoll with Lokti and maybe Toffolli, Kitsyn or Kozun. The Kings are deep at D and could replace Mitchell with Voynov or Hickey. Hickey might have to wait till 2013 when Scuderi is a FA. It’s an enviable position to be in and could keep the Kings in the hunt for the Cup every year.
if not too many players re-sign with their teams
2014 offseason is shaping up to be a doozy.
You wanna tell me that to mah face?!

According to Cap Geek, here's our cap space for each summer
2011: $2,343,690
2012: $15,818,690
2013: $29,892,857
2014: $36,742,857
2015: $40,392,857
2016: $47,192,857
2017: $47,192,857
2018: $51,550,000
Food for thought.
Semin's Also UFA in 2012, right?
Or is this list just people that Lombardi may actually be interested in, because I really don’t seeing him chasing Semin.
No wonder DL always look haggard!
Looking at both lists, and knowing how Dean projects into the future, he’s not going to be able to relax until, well, much later. Sorry, Mrs. Lombardi
I'm not a cap wizard, so bear with me
In summer 2014, we have five guys signed: Doughty, Kopi, Richards, Johnson, Williams
Let’s assume that in the next three years, we re-sign seven RFAs and trade or let go of the rest. That costs $10 million a year at most, assuming one of them doesn’t win a Norris in 2013 (I’m looking at you, Voynov!).
Then we re-sign Quick, Brown, Richardson, either Mitchell or Scuderi, and one of Stoll, Gagne, and Penner. I’ll put that total at $15 million a year.
This highly unscientific experiment leaves us with 16 players and $11 million left in space.
Kopitar, Williams, Brown, Richards, Stoll/Gagne/Penner, Clifford, Loktionov, Lewis, Richardson
Doughty, Johnson, Hickey/Martinez, Voynov, Scuderi
Quick/Bernier
Add four prospects to that (Toffoli, Forbort, Vey, and ?), and we’ve got enough left for… one big FA, or two smaller FAs in that time. If you sign Parise, we have plenty of decisions to make in the future.
… you’re right, IceGuy. This will be tough.
Kitsyn Kopitar Williams Martinez Doughty Quick Bernier
Toffoli Richards Brown Scuderi Johnson Jones
Clifford Loktionov Moller Hickey/Voynov Greene
Nolan Lewis Vey Deslauriers Muzzin
Forbort Gravel
oh, greene will be gone by then.

nolan-lewis-vey
martinez-doughty
scuderi-johnson
hickey/voynov – somebody better than Greene
Deslauriers, Muzzin, Forbort, Gravel
Quick/Bernier
Jones
my favorite line
How fun would the Clifford-Lokti-Moller line be? I mean seriously with Clifford continuing to develop his offensive zone talent that line would be electric. And its the THIRD line!!!

Only one goalie?
At least you gave Teddy Purcell some lovin’ as a “notable UFA”.
