Are you sure?
Is Oscar Moller now a “former King”? Don’t the Kings still have his rights? Or even so do you think he is gone for good? I kinda like the guy…
I LOVE OSCAR (and I have not let go of the dream of him returning to the Kings...)
however, once the season starts he can’t return to LA without first clearing waivers, and of course he would never clear. So once the season starts he won’t be allowed (by the Kings) to return. Which means we won’t see him this season. Maybe 2012-13.
No-one has taken his number yet, so that’s something.
Wait till this year.
The Kings should just let him go to another team. Poor little guy can’t get a break here, but I’d bet dollars to doughnuts he’d be on the starting roster in Carolina, or on the Islanders roster opening day.
What a waist.
I hope not
His waistline was not the problem though.
Hopefully he will develop some in Sweden this year, and come back next year…

That's more than a bit overwrought
What you view as the Kings’ refusal to give him a fair shot, Lombardi views as being patient with his development and making sure his career proceeds the right way. I still have high hopes for him, but as Quisp has pointed out, Moller is still young and still coming along, both in terms of his hockey development and his physical development.
I don’t think the Kings are underestimating Moller so much as we fans had our expectations ginned up prematurely by the fact that he was thrown into the breach in a season in which the team wasn’t that good or deep and exceeded expectations. Lombardi said as much in his LAKI interview about Moller signing the Swedish contract.
I have no doubt that Moller would be an instant starter on the most shallow teams in the NHL… but when you think about it, that’s really not saying much when you consider that the Kings aspire to be at the top of the standings this season rather than the bottom.

Alright, my heart hurts now. I’m going to buy a little terrier and name him Frostbeard.
