Some speculated he was going back to LA. This, in spite of the fact that Lombardi is still in charge of this franchise. Let me tell you what had a better chance of coming though:

Trades
I have been mulling around in my head if there are any moves out there to be had.
I spend too much time thinking about what you give up for Thomas Vanek … Parise seems to want to test the trade waters so I don’t think there is much there … I think it’s proven we have good ties with Philly and we could make things happen but the LW I’d want to talk about has a NTC.

I guess with Philly you could see what they would want for James van Riemsdyk. With Parse and Gagne out you could even make it work cap wise without doing much.
If they move JVR, I guess it would be for a Pronger replacement. LeBrun says they’re targeting Suter, which makes sense. But who on earth knows what Nashville has concluded about their playoff chances, and chances of re-signing him.
