Kings-Flames Preview: Suttermania Part II
Since we last did the two step with the Calgary Flames...
IN: Scott Hannan, Matt Stajan
OUT: Curtis Glencross, one of their top scorers (18 G), didn't finish the game in San Jose. Alex Tanguay (upper body), Brendan Morrison, Derek Smith (ankle), Henrik Karlsson, and David Moss are the other ranks of the injured.
Possible Flames Lineup: With Glencross doubtful, seems that the Flames are going with eleven forwards.
Cammalleri-Backlund-Iginla
Comeau-Jokinen-Jackman
Kostopoulos-Jones-Stempniak
Bouma-Stajan
Bouwmeester-Butler
Giordano-Hannan
Brodie-Sarich
Babchuk
Kiprusoff
Further reading: Matchsticks and Gasoline
Kings Lineup:
Brown-Kopitar-Williams
Penner-Richards-Stoll
Richardson-Loktionov-Lewis
Clifford-Fraser-Hunter
Scuderi-Doughty
Mitchell-Voynov
Johnson-Greene
In net: Apparently Quick again. Both teams are not giving their starters much rest.
Game Outlook: After a tough road trip in which the Kings played three games in four days, they're now discussing how they don't want to ease up just because they're home at last. The schedule is only going to get more exhausting going forward, but at least Darryl Sutter is conscious of the need for energy management.
It'll be interesting to see which team will be more 'up' for this right off the gun. The Flames should want revenge, and the Kings have Darryl in a tweed suit jumping around the locker room shouting AAAAAARE YOOOOOU READDDDYYYYY!?!
OT points are margarine. Regulation wins are butter!

It would seem your lineup-posting job isn’t as interesting with the Murrary Line Randomizer a thing of the past… I think the Kings masochist in me misses the uncertainty sometimes.

Hopefully Penner will build some confidence and score a little more after the goal against vancouver
Lots of games for Jon.M.F.(All-Star)
It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for someone in the organEYEzation to point out to Sutter that Quicker ran out of gas two years ago, right? Or are you (hive mind) of the belief that JMFA-S, being the seemingly picture of professionalism and leadership, is now able to go the distance despite this workload? I ask because I can see arguments for both sides.

Quick kinda sucked that whole season, he wasn’t that much worse down the stretch than he was in the first 2 months.
At least this time he’s not a 23 year old, distracted by the birth of his first child, and distracted by an olympic practice schedule, and tournament. He might have a heavy workload, but he has to evolve if he wants to be considered as great as some of the greater goalies in the game today.
If he can’t handle the workload, better to find out now before the Kings start negotiating for his next contract. He’s 26, and if he can’t do it now, he might never reach that level.
