A talented group of Senators prospects comes to town, as the Monarchs look to keep their strong team forecheck going
Manchester Monarchs (4-1-0) face the Binghamton Senators (3-2-1) today. The Monarchs had a solid effort last night, beating the Sharks 5-1. Binghamton out-shot the Portland Pirates on Saturday, but only managed to score shorthanded goals in the 4-2 loss.
The Senators have a bunch of exciting young players, some of whom are still getting used to the back-to-back schedule in the AHL. They are close to the league leaders in averaging 33 shots a game. The Monarchs have been great at limiting shots against with their strong forecheck, so we'll see what happens when these teams clash.
IN: Ben Bishop will get his first start of the season for the Senators. Martin Jones will be in net for Manchester. Hickey is back in after being scratched for three games.
OUT: Nolan, Meckler, Weal, and O'Neill are scratched again.
Smoked meat and poutine day in Manchester! Canadian heritage is so tasty. Game on!
