Darryl Sutter Reunites Muzzin and Greene. What Would Your 3rd Pair Be?

Jake Muzzin has joined Matt Greene at practice. Blog/Internet/fan favorite Alec Martinez might be back with Keaton Ellerby. Despite being a simple practice combo, this sent shockwaves across Los Angeles.

With the season just days away, Jon Rosen tweeted a bit of practice information that would seem harmless at first glance.


It's not even a surprising development, is it? However, there are three important facts to consider.

  1. After being "given more of an opportunity" during camp by head coach Darryl Sutter, Alec Martinez had a good training camp topped off by an excellent performance at Frozen Fury.
  2. Jake Muzzin sustained a knee injury last week; many thought this may have opened the door for Martinez.
  3. People LOVE Alec Martinez.

So, naturally, this caused an uproar.










Nothing signals the return of regular season hockey like Twitter blowing up over practice updates. And with the Kings starting on a back-to-back, who's to say that Sutter doesn't switch Martinez into the lineup for Game 2 of the season? But since people have strong feelings, we'll ask the question anyway...
