The Kings have assigned Slava Voynov to Manchester of the AHL and put Jake Muzzin on injured reserve.
Yes, I understand it's probably the responsible thing to do. Yes, I get it that Viatcheslav Voynov shouldn't be sitting in the press box at Staples when he could be playing in Manchester and riding buses. And I also understand that "choosing" between Davis Drewiske and Voynov is missing the point, because, really, the job Drewiske has is not one that anyone would want. The job is to not mind never getting to play. And Voynov could not, and should not ever have to, "win" that job.
Voynov is in line behind Drew Doughty, Jack Johnson and Alec Martinez (with Thomas Hickey right behind Voynov); just as Jake Muzzin is in line behind Willie Mitchell, Rob Scuderi and Matt Greene.
So the supposedly-rational adult in me understands this move. The idiot fan in me doesn't like it at all.
