A solid Game 1 effort against a previously undefeated team tonight. I wanted to play the Ducks as much as anyone, but home ice was a pretty good consolation prize.
Downsides: The Sharks' power play was moderately terrifying at some points; the Sharks generated a ton of shots in the third; we'll be keeping an eye on Jarret Stoll, who took a high hit from Raffi Torres (a charging penalty was called) late in the second and didn't return.
Oh, and Anze Kopitar went offside and robbed Mike Richards of an empty-netter, the bum.
Upsides: Slava Voynov scored one goal, produced another, and made a number of net-front clearances; you could argue that the third period was only lopsided because the Kings kept a two-goal lead the entire time; Dustin Penner is earning non-sarcastic chants at Staples; Drew Doughty's okay! Oh, and Jonathan Quick.

Here's to more upsides!
