Game notes:
  • A Sunday afternoon game against the Minnesota Wild! Feel the excitement!!!

  • [[tumbleweeds blow through]]

  • Okay, so the Minnesota Wild. The Wild have only played three games in this young season, thumping the Avalanche twice and then losing to the Ducks on Friday. On paper, they're a pretty decent team which should challenge in the West. Their top six is notably gifted, including their discount Anze Kopitar, Mikko Koivu. Their defence is young and strong, but anchored by workhorse and incredibly boring man Ryan Suter. Also, Matt Cooke.
  • After today, the Kings don't play again until Thursday, so we'll all have to go develop social lives or something. This extended homestand (the longest of the season) wraps up next Sunday, and then the Kings head cross-country for a little east coast jaunt until early November.
  • Marian Gaborik remains dead. Trevor Lewis remains dead on the IR. Jake Muzzin remains dead, but may be revived this week after his three-week check-up/x-rays. Darryl Sutter thinks that Muzzin looks "fine", but obviously the doctors will have the final word as to when he's fit to play again. The lineup, featuring the only 18 healthy skaters currently on the roster, remains the same.
  • The Kings played a dumb game against the Blues and got their dumb butts saved by Jonathan Quick. I don't think it was indicative of anything other than one good team having a good game and one good team not having a good game, but it would be awfully nice to see the Kings be the ones dominating early tonight and establishing quality time in the offensive zone.
  • Prediction: Kings win 4-2, and somehow something interesting happens.
