Rank the Players: Dwight Buries the Islanders

Three goals in 62 seconds (two by King) turn a nail-biter into another LA win.

NHL: New York Islanders at Los Angeles Kings Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Remember when the Los Angeles Kings couldn't figure out how to win in regulation? Yeah, we don't remember either.

Rank the Players:

So make it four straight for the Kings, who outplayed the Islanders for long stretches, but appeared to be preparing for overtime after giving up a goal on the one rebound chance they left for the Islanders. Then Dwight King scored at the end of a power play, he scored AGAIN 25 seconds later on a rush, Jake Muzzin potted an empty-netter shortly after, and LA left with a 4-2 victory. Oh, and Trevor Lewis assisted on both Dwight King goals. Their center was Anze Kopitar, who got an assist on the Kings’ first goal, but he unexpectedly dodged the headlines tonight.

After being tied with three minutes left? Not bad. We’ll have more for you in the recap.
