Henrik Lundqvist played insanely well. I think there might have been only one guy on the ice who was better.

So the obvious reaction is "LOL New York blew another two-goal third period lead at Staples" but it really was eerie, wasn't it? We saw this movie in 2014, but yet again, the New York Rangers fell back after getting a hard-earned insurance marker. They weren't outplaying the Los Angeles Kings early on, but a strong third period start helped them tack another one on to their 2-1 intermission lead. And then Jeff Carter made a terrific blind pass to Kyle Clifford, and the Rangers were on their heels.
Lundqvist wasn't looking likely to be beaten, but two tips by Anze Kopitar did the trick. The second came in 3-on-3, giving the Kings a six-point lead in the Pacific.
More to come in the recap, including a crucial decision by Darryl Sutter which could be a playoff preview.
