Rank the Players: Canucks Complete Improbable California Sweep

New, comments

The Kings throw plenty of rubber at Ryan Miller but are victimized by poor ends to the first and second periods.

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

The LA Kings no longer control their own destiny in the Pacific Division. And so we continue to hold our breath down the stretch...

Tyler Toffoli got to 30 goals six minutes in, but any thoughts that this game might be a relaxing one were undone when Emerson Etem scored with 13 seconds left in the opening frame. From there, LA couldn't create any separation, and Kyle Clifford's goal (from Andy Andreoff, who would very much like to keep his lineup spot) wasn't enough to stop another late-period surge from Vancouver. The game ended 3-2, and LA now stills Anaheim by a point, despite having played one more game. So now, beating Anaheim in Game 81 still might not be enough for LA to take the Pacific Division.

More to come in the recap!
