LA Kings Re-Sign Brayden McNabb

The young defenseman comes to term with Los Angeles to stick around for the next 24 months.

Earlier this afternoon, the Los Angeles Kings announced that they had decided to re-up defenseman Brayden McNabb for two more years. There seemed to be some tension towards the end of the season and in the playoffs when McNabb's minutes dropped, appearing as though the Kings had soured on him, most likely due to his lack of point production.

In any case, the reported $3.4 million ($1.7 million AAV) is very much a sweetheart deal for the Kings' organization. At 25, McNabb is still within his prime and has a lot of room to grow.

With their top four defensemen signed, the Kings have 19 roster players (12F, 7D, 1G) and $68,097,727 in cap space. With a stagnating cap, the team is projected to have just shy of $3 million in cap room. (Stick tap to General Fanager for the numbers.)
