Rank the Players: Bring Back the Pessimism!

The homestand begins with a... actually, what would you call that?

Detroit Red Wings v Los Angeles Kings

Red Wings 4, Kings 0.

The Kings had a chance to build on a back-to-back sweep over San Jose, but instead, the first period was flat-out demoralizing. The second period was completely one-sided, but when the Kings couldn’t get anything past Jared Coreau, the third period was an afterthought.

LA’s found success this year in some unheralded players, but the depth made some mistakes tonight; Gravel and Dowd fueled a breakaway goal against, Forbort got beat on one, and Zatkoff... after waiting two weeks for a start, I’ll be stunned if Sutter puts him back in the Kings’ net any sooner than three or four weeks out. It was a teamwide dud, though.
