Off-Day Watch 12/25: Happy, merry, etc.

You should probably be drinking eggnog or something right now.

The Kings didn’t bless us with any funny holiday videos or attempts at acting or singing this year — which, honestly, is for the best; despite being in the home of the entertainment industry, we all know most of these guys couldn’t act their way out of a paper bag — but I suppose they did give us four points and two thrilling overtime wins on their road trip, which is enough of a Christmas present, if you ask me.

While you’re all off opening presents and throwing wrapping paper at each other and contemplating the Christmas ham, or whatever it is people actually do today — listen, I’m sitting at home with my cats writing about sports, okay — we’ve compiled a glimpse at the fun things that teams across the hockey world are doing to celebrate the day.

First, a glimpse at some vintage holiday cards from the Minnesota North Stars:

The Golden Knights put together a bilingual Christmas message with a Haula-based pun, so that’s a winner:

The Rangers trot out a good looking dog and a good looking goalie to celebrate the day:

The Senators might be, uh, the Senators, but their media team is killing it this year:

Want some AHL players trying to sing? Of course you do. Here’s the Milwaukee Admirals:

The Ohio State men’s hockey team talks about their favorite Christmas things:

A holiday greeting from the CWHL:

This year’s holiday outing didn’t involve Nick Bjugstad dressing up like Mrs. Claus, but the Florida Panthers still delivered some holiday cheer:

The Buffalo Beauts (Julianna Iafallo sighting!) team up with the National Lacrosse League’s Buffalo Bandits for their take on A Christmas Story:

Of course, PK Subban never disappoints:

And the Pittsburgh Penguins go above and beyond every year, too:

The Wild have trapped their mascot, which seems inadvisable:

Meanwhile, Gritty:

And finally, an anxiety-provoking Christmas carol from the NHL:

Have you seen a fun hockey holiday video that we’ve missed? Leave it in the comments for everyone to enjoy.

From all of us at Jewels from the Crown to all of you, we wish you the best of Christmases, the most happy of winter seasons, or simply an excellent December 25th. We wouldn’t be here without all of you, and are so glad you’re here with us on the roller coaster that is the 2018-19 Los Angeles Kings.
