USA Hockey released their list of players invited to the World Junior Summer Showcase, set to take place from July 28 through August 4 in Kamloops, British Columbia. The Summer Showcase serves as an opportunity for players to, well, showcase their skills in an effort to make the national team roster for the 2019 World Junior Championships. Canada, Finland, and Sweden also send teams to the summer showcase.

2017 draft pick Mikey Anderson, who will be playing his second year of college hockey this coming season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, was selected to participate in the showcase event. Anderson was a member of the bronze medal-winning US squad for this year’s tournament. In his first major national team event, he recorded one point in seven games there and played largely on the bottom pairing.

Anderson also recorded five goals and 18 assists in his first season with UMD over 39 games. The Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame to capture the men’s Frozen Four championship to cap off their 2017-18 campaign.

Good luck to Mikey Anderson this summer!
