The Kings turn back to Sweden for their first of two sixth-round picks, selecting Johan Södergran with pick number 165. The 6’2” forward plays both center and wing, and split his time this past season between Linköping’s junior and mens’ teams. He excelled on Linköping’s SuperElit team, putting up 33 points in 37 games. He also played 20 games in the SHL, putting up no points but gaining valuable experience playing against men.

A prospect to keep an eye on is Johan Södergran. Our @FCHockey Scout @ChrHedlund on him: I like how he has improved his offensive game, you can see obvious steps in the right direction and I really like the tools and upside he has #2018NHLDraft— Dennis Schellenberg (@ScoutingFactory) March 4, 2018
Another game in J20 SuperElit and once again I am very impressed by Johan Södergran. Currently he is one of the most exciting players to watch in J20 SuperElit. Elite speed and great hockey sense! He has really taken his game to another level in J20 Top10 #2018NHLDraft— Christoffer Hedlund (@ChrHedlund) February 23, 2018
The #lakings get Johan Södergran with pick #165, could turn out be a big steal in this draft. I've been amazed by him more than once this season, one of the most exciting players in J20 SuperElit. Smooth skater with insanely high top speed. A great pick! @FCHockey #nhldraft2018— Christoffer Hedlund (@ChrHedlund) June 23, 2018
165. KINGS: Johan Södergran F— Jimmy Hamrin (@jimmyhamrin) June 23, 2018
Big and powerful forward. Good skater for his size and with decent offensive instincts. If he makes the NHL, it'll be as a 3rd/4th liner. #nhldraft2018
