Finally, the big day (and also a second, slightly-less-big-but-still-important day) is upon us.
By the time we all tuck into bed tonight, we’ll know what the Kings did with their two picks in the first round. Plus, we’ll know if Rob Blake really swung for the fences (or messed it up) on any big, unexpected trades.
How to Watch
If you’re looking to watch the draft live on television, round one airs tonight (Friday, June 21) at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on NBCSN (Sportsnet in Canada).
Rounds two through seven will air tomorrow (Saturday, June 22), beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time on the NHL Network (Sportsnet in Canada).
If you’re in the US, the draft can also be streamed online via NBC Sports.
Who to Pick
The Kings currently have 10 picks in the draft this year:
- Round 1: #5
- Round 1: #22 (via Toronto, part of the Jake Muzzin trade)
- Round 2: #33
- Round 3: #64
- Round 3: #87 (via Washington, part of the Carl Hagelin trade)
- Round 4: #95
- Round 4: #119 (via Montreal, part of the Nate Thompson trade; this pick was originally Calgary’s, acquired by Montreal at the 2018 NHL Draft)
- Round 5: #126
- Round 6: #157
- Round 7: #188
In the annual SB Nation NHL Mock Draft, we selected forward Dylan Cozens with the number five pick and defenseman Matthew Robertson with the 22nd pick. Were either of our picks correct? Does someone fall dramatically out of the top 10 and land in the Kings’ laps at 22? Does Rob Blake make a wild trade? We’ll find out soon.
In case you missed any of our prospect profiles leading up to today, spend some time on our 2019 NHL Draft hub, where you can find information on many of the players up for consideration for the Kings.
We’ll bring you updates here on the site with all the Kings’ happenings, and of course, will be live on Twitter all throughout the draft, as well.
