117-Word Recap

In game 81, the Los Angeles Kings was simultaneously looking to sweep the season Freeway Faceoff and lock down the second most ping pong balls in the upcoming draft lottery. Wilbrod Desjardins finally played four lines evenly and Kings fans got a great look at some of the young kids, but in a 5-2 loss, Anze Kopitar said it the best:

”You’re trying to get through the last few games. It’s a frustrating time. There’s nothing left to play for. Mentally, it’s tough getting ready for games. But this is our job and we have to do it. We had some chances, didn’t get it done.”

And there was this cheapness from Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry:

Coach’s Corner: What Wilbrod Desjardins Did Wrong Tonight:

1. Sitting Jonny Brodzinski again.

2. Challenging the first Anaheim goal. No way that this one was being overturned. The Ducks announcers were doing everything but laughing at Wilbrod. Timeout wasted and everything was downhill from there.

3. Proving this entire season is a lie:
