Fan favorites Kyle Clifford and Jack Campbell are shipping up to
The @MapleLeafs have acquired goaltender Jack Campbell and forward Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for forward Trevor Moore, Columbus’ third round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a conditional third round pick in 2021. #LeafsForever— Leafs PR (@LeafsPR) February 6, 2020
The Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs are in two very different positions at this point in time, though neither are in a playoff spot. The Leafs are fighting tooth and nail to make the postseason and Frederik Andersen can’t carry the team by himself. Michael Hutchinson hasn’t proven to be an effective backup and upper management has apparently deemed Campbell a better replacement than AHL All Star netminder Kasimir Kaskisuo (who has a .912 sv% in the AHL, .842 sv% in the NHL).
For Campbell’s part, in 58 NHL appearances, he has a .916sv%, 2.58GAA and two shutouts.
Leafs share they'll retain 50% of Clifford's hit ($800K), fwiw. Moore is a Thousand Oaks native who skated out of the Simi Valley and Lakewood rinks. Spoke with him in November: https://t.co/TEoRKH6R07— Jon Rosen (@lakingsinsider) February 6, 2020
Clifford was always a good soldier for the Kings. As a role player, he performed well in limited minutes and was never afraid to drop the gloves. The 29 year-old Ayr native has 14 points in 53 games this year and was pacing to match his career high 11 goals.
Trevor Moore is a 24-year-old native from Thousand Oaks, CA who last played in the NHL on Dec. 21 against the Detroit Red Wings. He has 13 points in 51 career games. Presented without comment.
Best of luck to Campbell and Clifford with the Maple Leafs.

It can move up to Toronto’s 2nd round pick if they re-sign Clifford or if they make the playoffs and Campbell wins 6 regular season games.
Oh, and, welcome (back) Cal Petersen.
