The cheerful man described as everybody's friend loved kids and made a point to visit pediatric hospitals, so the foundation set up in his memory teamed up with Boston’s Floating Hospital For Children. From funding a playroom (Ace's Place), to refurbishing the neonatal care unit, the foundation has undertaken projects that reflect his spirit.

"He wanted to help children; he was always good with kids, so I guess it was easy to figure what you were going to do for a foundation. This foundation is helping kids, sick kids, to have a little better life; a little more fun while they’re in the hospital…it’s a testament to him. I glad to be a part of it." --Rick Middleton

Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation

Although Mark will always be remembered for his leadership on the ice, it was his unwavering leadership off the ice that made him such a unique individual. His relentless efforts to help children success whether in athletics or academics are what his foundation strives to duplicate.
