The cheerful man described as everybody’s friend loved kids and made a point to visit pediatric hospitals, so the foundation set up in his memory teamed up with Boston’s Floating Hospital For Children. From funding a playroom (Ace’s Place), to refurbishing the neonatal care unit, the foundation has undertaken projects that reflect his spirit.

“He wanted to help children; he was always good with kids, so I guess it was easy to figure what you were going to do for a foundation. This foundation is helping kids, sick kids, to have a little better life; a little more fun while they’re in the hospital…it’s a testament to him. I glad to be a part of it.” –Rick Middleton

Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation

Although Mark will always be remembered for his leadership on the ice, it was his unwavering leadership off the ice that made him such a unique individual. His relentless efforts to help children success whether in athletics or academics are what his foundation strives to duplicate.
