As expected, the Kings began to trim their camp roster today after the split squad action on Tuesday night.
With junior hockey seasons beginning soon, five players were sent back to their teams:
- Forward Aidan Dudas (Owen Sound Attack, OHL). Dudas played 13:48 in Arizona, including 3:46 of power play time. He registered no shots and had three shot attempts (all misses).
- Goaltender Jacob Ingham (Kitchener Rangers, OHL). Ingham did not play in either of the split squad games yesterday.
- Forward Arthur Kaliyev (Hamilton Bulldogs, OHL). Kaliyev played 12:59 in Los Angeles and recorded two shots, one hit, and one blocked shot. He was on the ice for one goal against.
- Goaltender Lukas Parik (Spokane Chiefs, WHL). Parik did not play in either of the split squad games yesterday.
- Defenseman Jordan Spence (Moncton Wildcats, QMJHL). Spence played 18:17 in Los Angeles, including 2:58 of shorthanded time. He recorded one shot, one hit, and one blocked shot, and was on the ice for one goal against. /
Perhaps the only surprise in this group is Kaliyev; while his return to juniors was all but inevitable, it seemed like his pedigree as a goal scorer could have earned him a longer look.
Additionally, Billy Constantinou (Kingston Frontenacs, OHL) and Jonathan Yantsis (Kitchener) were released from their Amateur Try-Out agreements. Constantinou, 18 years old, and Yantsis, 20 years old, will return to their junior teams, but seem to be players the Kings will keep an eye on.
