Four Kings prospects to participate in annual Canada/Russia faceoff

Aidan Dudas, Akil Thomas, Jacob Ingham, and Jordan Spence will all suit up to represent their respective leagues in the series.

The Canadian Hockey League has announced rosters for the three teams that will be participating in the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series, an annual event pitting the Russian men’s national junior hockey team against teams from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Western Hockey League.

Participating for Team OHL are forwards Aidan Dudas and Akil Thomas and goaltender Jacob Ingham. Defenseman Jordan Spence will play for Team QMJHL.

Dudas, a 2018 fourth round draft pick, is the captain of the Owen Sound Attack. He’s registered 12 points (three goals, nine assists) through nine games of play. He played six games with the Ontario Reign in 2018-19 after his season with Owen Sound ended, registering two assists.

Thomas, a 2018 second round draft pick, captains the Niagara IceDogs. He has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) through six games so far. He was a late cut from Kings training camp  and miss the first three games of the IceDogs’ season.

Ingham, selected in the sixth round of the 2018 draft, is in his first season with the Kitchener Rangers. He previously spent three seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads. Ingham’s 0.921 save percentage is currently second in the OHL. He leads the league in saves, making 292 over eight games played.

Spence, a 2019 fourth round pick, is in his second season with the Moncton Wildcats. He currently has seven assists through 10 games played. Last year, he was named QMJHL defensive rookie of the year as well as overall rookie of the year, and led the league’s rookies   with 43 assists.
