Yeah, the Kings Were Never Gonna Be Able to Re-Sign Ben Bishop

Ben Bishop got starter money. Three days after the Kings traded his rights (he was a pending unrestricted free agent) to the Dallas Stars, Dallas signed him to a six-year deal. Bishop will make $29.5 million over the life of the contract, making this a deal that would've been way too long AND too expensive for the Kings to stomach. So much for that two-headed-goalie-monster plan. With Bishop gone, LA needs a backup, and we outlined some possibilities here.
