After Peter Budaj did all the hard work for three periods in Pittsburgh, Phil Kessel broke his stick and Nick Bonino whiffed on Alec Martinez deep in the offensive zone. That led to a 3-on-1, and Tyler Toffoli took it from there. The Penguins' seven-game winning streak came to an end, while the Kings got their sixth OT win (and their second over Pittsburgh) this year. video from NBC Sports
The guy who will probably lead the Kings in goals got LA's season off to a flying start, scoring on a power play less than two minutes into the game to give LA a 1-0 lead. As with every time Tyler Toffoli scores on Martin Jones, we can only assume Toffoli felt a pang of sadness as he celebrated. (Video courtesy of NBC Sports)
A huge hit by Dustin Brown set up Tanner Pearson for some overtime heroics against the San Jose Sharks. Pearson, who had already scored two OT goals on the road in 2016, wristed one between the legs of Martin Jones 3:47 into overtime. LA would have been all but buried (yes, we know about 2014) had they lost this one; instead, Pearson's first goal and third point of the playoffs puts the Kings in a position to even up the series on Wednesday.

Another defensive mistake by the Avs! Tyler Toffoli gets a breakaway and beats Reto Berra glove side to make it 2-1. The goal came less than 30 seconds after Colorado tied it up. Also, he has a really cute face and should get an extra point for that. (Video via NHL.com).
In a sweet moment, Toffoli selflessly passes to Andreoff to give him an empty-netter, his second goal of the season. We get to end the season on a patented Andy Andreoff smile, and what could be better than that? Goodbye LA Kings, until October. (Video via NHL.com).
