"no not at all. certainly not true." says Doughty, training every day in London...and that he hasn't talked to Kings' Lombardi or Jeff Solomon since mid-July. Meehan on Doughty/Kings: "we don't have a deal." also said comments by advisor Jack Ferreira that Doughty doesn't want to make a deal were frustrating and disappointing to Drew. Ferreira said last month Doughty's side didn't want to make deal and he wouldn't be surprised if Doughty becomes a holdout. Camp opens in a month. i'm actually still on vacation but felt compelled to get something on record after hearing so many baseless rumors. Dean Lombardi declines comment but clearly no deal in any semblance between Kings and Doughty. Not saying what is/isn't on table. don't think 9-yr deal will fly. just saying no deal in place in principle or otherwise.
I combined Helene Elliott's sequence of tweets into one long tweeeeeeeeet. I think this pretty much says it all. Doughty says there's no deal. Meehan says there's no deal. No deal of any kid. Nothing in place. Nothing "in principle." Rumors that say otherwise are baseless. Doughty hasn't talked to Lombardi (et al) in a month.
