In honor of the win, the "points blown" standings update:
Two points "awarded" for every loss, one point for every OTL/SOL. Lowest point total is best. In parentheses are the official (ESPN) rankings.
- Calgary 15 (3)
- Chicago 15 (2)
- San Jose 16 (1)
- Colorado 21 (4)
- Nashville 21 (6)
- Los Angeles 22 (5)
- Detroit 22 (10)
- Phoenix 23 (7)
- Dallas 23 (9)
- Columbus 23 (8)
- Vancouver 24 (11)
- St. Louis 25 (12)
- Minnesota 27 (15)
- Anaheim 28 (13)
- Edmonton 30 (14)
Since Columbus got an OTL point tonight, and Anaheim lost, they are the only two teams whose points-blown total changed. The Columbus OTL point perfectly illustrates why I like thinking of the standings this way: in the "real" (ESPN) standings, Columbus got a point, so they moved up in the official standings into 8th place, from 10th. But, to my way of looking at it, they lost a point they could have had. So in my standings, they move down, not up: they drop out of a tie with LA and Detroit and slip down into a three-way tie with Dallas and Phoenix.
