Jeff Carter Suffers "Upper-Body" Injury, Unlikely to Return
It looks for all the world like a hand injury, though.
So that's not what we wanted to see on the opening faceoff of a five-game road trip... just seconds into tonight's game against the Coyotes, Jeff Carter went off with an injury.
Looks like whatever happened to Carter happened on the opening draw. Got tangled up, was favoring right hand, made one pass, left the ice.

Naturally, every media member was asking about Carter's absence for most of the first period; the Kings finally announced that the injury was an upper-body one.
Via #LAKings, Carter has an upper-body injury and is not expected to return.

It's almost definitely to his hand, though, trust us. We'll update this post once there's a sense of how long he'll be out.
