Try Not to Panic, But Jeff Zatkoff is Hurt Again
Peter Budaj replaced Zatkoff, who had been playing quite well, after two periods on Friday.
We were thrilled to have two bona fide NHL goaltenders again on Monday. There’s a chance that we didn’t even get through the week without that ending.
After making 18 saves (and not allowing a goal) through two periods in Ottawa, Jeff Zatkoff was replaced by Peter Budaj for the third period. Patrick O’Neal said on the air that Zatkoff had sustained a lower-body injury and was questionable to return. Recall that Zatkoff had missed about three weeks of action with a groin injury before being activated on November 7.
It’s anyone’s guess where Zatkoff sustained the injury. Here’s ours, as Zatkoff had to stretch to make this save, and pinned his leg against the post for good measure:

Knowing the Kings, we probably won’t get any more of an update on Zatkoff, but if there is one we’ll add it to this post.
