Jordan Nolan, a Los Angeles Kings forward of six years, has rejoined the organization in a front-office role. The two-time Stanley Cup champion will come in as a Community Relations Consultant. He will be a part of the “We Are All Kings” program, which helps ensure that fans and players feel welcome in the Kings’ community. He will also be a key piece to team initiatives, like the Little Kings’ camps.
Nolan was originally drafted 186th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Kings and accumulated a total of 20 goals and 42 points through 292 games with the franchise. His most recent season was with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2020-21, where he played just two games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.
“The LA Kings organization has always been special to my family and me. To be given the opportunity to come back and work with the Kings is an honor. I’m thankful for the opportunity and look forward to making a difference in the Los Angeles community,” said Nolan in a press release.
Nolan comes from a mixed First Nations Ojibway and First Nations Maliseet family, so he will play a huge role in making sure the franchise keeps true to its promises of inclusivity and will be able to offer his own words of wisdom and insight on potential ideas.
Jennifer Pope, the Kings’ Senior Vice President of Community and Hockey Development, said, “Jordan has always played a key role in the community, wherever he has been, and it is great that he is returning to Los Angeles where he can benefit our community in particular.”
Nolan took to his Twitter to add onto his original statement on the hiring, stating that he is hoping to make a difference in the sport of hockey and help grow the game, which will all start with targeting the excluded youth, seeing idols like Nolan make it far in the sport of hockey.
